Fun and fellowship at PTP’s Casino Royale

20170318_221850_resized.jpgEvery year, the very active and engaging St. John’s Parent Teacher Program (PTP) puts together an evening of fellowship and fun with the aim of fundraising. This year’s gala took place over the past weekend, and what an unforgettable event it was! The theme was Casino Royale and the venue was the beautiful Chateau-Ferme de Profondval.

The women dazzled in formal gowns and dresses, the men looked dapper in suits and tuxedos. Months of planning neatly unfolded on Saturday evening, as cars and chartered buses pulled up the cobbled driveway of this exquisite venue. The evening began with the guests signing in and receiving crisp St. John’s notes that could be used in the casino or entered in the raffle. Guests were able to buy tickets for the tombola as well, which had enough sponsored gifts to ensure that everyone won something. After enjoying the welcome drinks and appetizers, the group moved over to the breathtaking main room. The circulating waiters made sure that no glass was dry, and the walking buffet was a huge success with a delicious variety of food and deserts.  Guests bonded over bidding on the Silent Auction items and playing roulette, poker and black jack. Soon enough, the lights went dim, and the announcements for the winners of the grand prizes were announced to great cheer and applause. Let’s just say, it’s not a bad night when you attend a party, and leave with a 60-inch flat screen TV!

Towards the end of the night, the formal round tables were moved aside to reveal a dance floor. A modern ambience of laser lights and fog machines replaced the classic rustic chic one, as guests cut loose on the dance floor! Did we already say it was an unforgettable evening? Congratulations to all involved in planning this great event, especially Amie Myers, Anna Harnisch and Emily Johnson.
