Elementary School students visit Santa’s Workshop

img_6400‘Tis the season and the students of St. John’s have already begun their celebrations!  The hallways are fluttering with colorful flyers with snowflakes and reindeers printed on them, announcing various events to celebrate the upcoming festivities. They feature food drives and donations for the less fortunate, Christmas concerts and many more. Christmas carols can be heard in our music wing, and the general mood is festive and happy!

One great activity that has the Elementary School kids very excited is the invitation to the “North Pole.” From November 28th until the 30th, part of the cafeteria has been converted into a bit of a winter wonderland. The kids have been working in Santa’s workshop to create lovely goods! Here the children have been making adorable holiday keepsakes for their family while they enjoy some good ol’ Christmas music and cookies, along with other refreshments. The mood is set with three Christmas trees looming over the children as they create their gifts. The beautiful snowflakes that the children have been working on will then be taken home to hang on their own trees. Each of these handmade gifts will be gift wrapped and taken home for the whole family to enjoy.
