How do you get a horse in a box? How do you get yourself in a box for that matter?
St. John’s Grades 6, 7 and 8 English as an Additional Language (EAL) students were asked to bring objects that told us a little bit more about themselves – in a box.
One by one, they lifted the lids and shared with their curious audience their interests, passions, their likes and dislikes and some aspects of their personalities. Here is some of the feedback the students had about their peers and this activity:
“I liked this activity because you learn about new friends”
“It’s a fun introduction to the course”
“We got to know a lot of things about each other”
“I got to share my hobbies, and see other what other people like to do”
