Grade 4 student competes in International Piano Competition

Grade 4 student Tommy, who is aged 9,  has competed in the “Merci Maestro” International Competition for Young Pianists in Brussels. It was a competition for over 100 young pianists from all over Europe and it was quite an achievement for Tommy to be allowed to participate. He hopes to compete again next year.

At the ES assembly this week, Tommy gave us a short recital  of the 4 pieces he played at the competition. He then answered questions from the students and we learned that he started piano with his father and has been taking lessons for 4 years. He enjoys practising and making his own compositions. It only took him a few weeks to learn the pieces he played today.

Great job Tommy!
