St. John’s High School students participate in Model United Nations conference

A group of 20151010_171339_resized15 High School students, representing 9 nationalities, all of whom take part in the Model United Nations (MUN) lunchtime activity, attended the Model United Nations conference in Voorburg, Netherlands.

MINIMUN is a one-day conference in which students can gain experience in debating world issues. The main intention of MINIMUN is to give students the opportunity to develop and improve on their debating skills before they face the demands of larger conferences such as “The Hague International Model United Nations” (THIMUN).

The St. John’s team represented Panama, Australia, Croatia and Estonia in the committees of Human Rights, Environment, Econimic and Social Council (ECOSC) and Political. A long and tiring day but the overall agreement was the experience was well worth it.
