Hot seating Karl Marx

During the Unit on Industrial Revolution, the Middle School 8B Social Studies class read an introductory article from library online resources on a short biography of Karl Marx, a German social philosopher who was the author of The Communist Manifesto, which called on the workers of the world to unite and fight for their rights. The students also read about Charles Dickens and Oliver Twist, and Victor Hugo and Les Miserables.  They were asked to pose questions to Karl Marx, imagining if he were alive today. To students’ surprise, Karl Marx appeared for a “hot seating” session and he gladly answered the students’ questions. Take a look at the result:
