Spring sports season tryout information

stj_lions_circleThe spring sports season is just around the corner. We have the following teams in the spring:

Baseball (boys, minimum age 13 on September 1, 2013) + Softball (girls, minimum age 13 on September 1, 2013)
Tennis (boys and girls, minimum age 13 on September 1, 2013)
Track and Field (boys and girls, minimum age 12 on September 1, 2013)

We have re-established a golf team which has been practicing since December, no tryouts will be held for this.

Baseball and softball (at St. John’s) –
Tuesday, March 11, Thursday, March 13 and Friday, March 14 from 15:45-18:00
Green and White Day – Saturday, March 15, 9:00-11:30

Tennis (all tryouts will be held indoors) –
Tuesday, March 11, 16:30-19:00 – at Sport Village (Vieux chemin de Wavre, 117 – 1380 Lasne) – A bus will take students from school at 15:45 to Sport Village. There will be no bus back to school from Sport Village after the tryouts.

Friday, March 14, 20:00-22:00 – at Foret de Soignes (Avenue de l’Epervier 16 – 1640 Rhode-St-Genèse – there will be no transportation provided)

Saturday, March 15, 13:30-15:30 – at Foret de Soignes (Avenue de l’Epervier 16 – 1640 Rhode-St-Genèse – there will be no transportation provided)

Track and field (at Stade Gaston Reiff in Braine l’Alleud…bus will drive team to the track after school at 15:45 and return to school at around 18:00) –

Tuesday, March 11 and Thursday, March 13, in Braine
Green and White Day at St. John’s – Saturday, March 15, 9:00-11:30

Regular season practices this spring will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 15:45-18:00. The game/meet schedule can be seen under ‘downloads’ at http://www.stjohns.be/athletics

This week, the St. John’s Varsity basketball and Varsity/JV swim teams are competing in the ISST Championships. The girls basketball team is traveling to Paris, the boys basketball team will be competing at ISB in Brussels and the swim team will be in London, competing in the London Aquatics Centre (the pool used for the 2012 Olympic Games).
